If they're the same as the SEEG seat passenger back rest, they attach to your tour pack with velcro and yes, they are removable.

I thought they looked uncomfortable too and asked my girlfriend if I should take it off and take it to a leather alterations shop to have more padding put in it.  She said that the way the back rest itself sits back, compared to stock backrest, that she doesn't even feel it. :nixweiss:

I am not sure but, I don,t think it is the same on a SEEG,  I am speaking of the pad between the passenger back rest and the seat, If I remember correctly on my 05 ultra it was more of a pillow thing, not a statonary pad.............

Yes, on a stock Utra Classic it is a pillow attached to the passenger backrest...........however, on a Corbin seat it is a seperate pad (not much padding at all) that is attached to the tour pack with velcro, between the armrest and the seat.  Now on the Screamin Eagle Ultra Classic, it would have to be something else.........I don't think they're going to have velcro on the leather tour pack. :nixweiss:

Here's a link to a slide show of my seat being made at Corbin.   I think there are some photos in here that show the backrest pretty clearly............

Picture #24 shows it up close........

Anyone considering this for a SEEG, yes, Corbin's little pad addition for the chopped backrest is pretty worthless compared to what the stock backrest offers.  For less than the cost of buying their matching upper part of the backrest, however, you do have an option.

They'll recover the stock SEEG chopped pak's backrest.  They did mine for $125.00.  Then you've got a full coverage and (apparently) much more comfortable option that actually is recovered to match the seat you're buying from them.

Just an option......
