2007 SERK - which Vance and Hines exhaust?
« on: June 26, 2007, 09:34:22 AM »

Hi All: I have a nice 2007 Black SERK that I am having a V&H exhaust put on and having it race tuned at the dealer. There are a variety of styles of slip on mufflers to choose from and, although I know its personal preference I thought some of the SERK owners out there might have a view as to which one looks better than others (straight cut, slash cut, ovals, endcaps). Any views on this? Thanks!

MTB,

My preference is the slash cut, which I put on my SERK.

Slash cut ends will lessen the noise you hear riding because it's pointed to the ground, so that's one advantage to them.

If you decide you would like to try the V&H ovals....I have a previously installed set for sale...which are in very nice condition.... $250.00 inclusive of shipping to anywhere in the lower 48 states in the US.

PS: if it were me however if you could wrap your mind around a 2:1 I would install the Supertrapp 2:1 Super Meg......of course one must decide whether the 2:1 is appropriate for them......but it's quiet, and produces a very nice sound and performance.

Here are pics of my SERK with Vance and Hines Dresser Duals w/oval mufflers that were put on today. I also added a fuelpak to help with the lean fuel problem. Hopefully this will fix the HEAT issue as well :2vrolijk_21:

That's exactly what I bought for my SERK that's due in November.  They look great.

How do they sound, if you can describe it?

Thanks and it looks great...

They have a nice rumble, but not too loud.  They are definetely not barky or raspy.  I'm thrilled with them.

The Ovals look good BUT everyone has them, the slash cuts cut down on some of the noise that you would hear.  I think my favourites are the ones that look like the eagle beak, follow the link.
