I've herd that cyclerama does nice work, I'm probably going to have them do my heads this winter. Below is a cyclerama, 95", 9.5:1 mild build, look at the TQ curve, if you can call it that! This is from Nightrider.

John

You will be happy with your 103 @ 115/120.
Do you need the 120? No, not as far as I'm concerned.
When I got my 120 people were like oooooooing it's a 120 it's going to be bad!
Wrong!
As I knew from the start the 120 is an excellent motor but in all reality for me it was just a base.
A damn good base but just a base.
It is a production motor.
So I did, headwork, cams, pistons, intake to get to where I wanted to be.
Basically the same thing your going to do to your 103.
So do you want to spend the 7 and then the 4.6 more to make it right. I wouldn't.
It's all in what you want.
Good luck!

thanks to Harry and Howie on advice and hook up with Cyclerama in tampa area. Just got quote and part lists for 103 ultimate street machine:Lots of head work (port, polish, guides, etc), forged flat top piston, lifters, cylinder head studs, rocker arms, port throttle body/manifold with zipper Air breather kit. Similar dyno results 115hp/120+tq, with labor around $4600. This all sounds just like what i expected performance and price wise. Now my big question to all the motor gurus, what do you get with $2500 more for jim 120 or equivalent out of the box? Any better performance, reliabitliy, etc.? (cyclerama will actually do a 124" for $6300). The top end redo is what I would lean to, but for that kind of money i want to do it right and wonder what if? thanks john

Nothing wrong with a Hot Rod top end job on the 103! And it's done in the bike. And those are good numbers. But if your removing the engine and doing the Timkin, then I'd go 124 at that time. Check your runout, and if it's fine, you'll have a decision then. If it's not, you're splitting the cases anyway! The 103 Hot Rod will be nice, and a 124 would be nicer. And remember, there's no replacement for displacement! So good luck with your decision. ;) How's that for wishy-washy! ::) ;D
