mine was doing the same thing..would crank over several seconds before firing..called a friend of mine who is a shop forman at harley dealer up north..he told me not to wait on the engine light to go off before starting..he told me to turn ign.on wait i or 2 seconds.then start..that was 4000 miles ago.it has been starting fine since then..

Did your dealer explain why it was best to NOT wait for the light?  Everythig I read says wait, since it also sets the computer and fuel etc.  I would be interested to know his reasoning, whether it works better or not is not the question, it's why not wait.  Thanks for your research!

no he did not explain..he said all you need to do is prime the fuel pump which takes just a second or 2..he also said there is a bulletin from harley davidson to the police departments that they can start there bikes as soon as they turn the key on..like i said this might not work in all instances but it cured mine...thanks...

I had the extended crank situation after the PCIII. Had to take out some fuel during crank. Also had too much fuel at 1,000 RPM (idle) and the idle would jump up to 1,300 at times. Put the idle back to + - 0 and seemed to take care of it. There is apparently programing in the 07 110s so they will crank longer before starting. Before anything was changed my 110 cranked longer and harder (comp release) than the 88s or the 103 did. Still learning. Over all now, after a couple of adjustments, the PCIII was a good addition. It clearly runs cooler and that is what I was after.

same problem with my 06 after adding the PCIII. Called the tech at PCIII and he told me to turn the bike on and hit the starter button without waiting for the lights. It's been starting fine ever since.. He told me it had something to do with the PCIII loading up..
