Bike Cover?

Another CVO Newbie question.

The garage cover they give you....is the velcro opening in the back for the antennas?

It sure is.  Makes getting the cover on easier.

I was wondering because the opening is about 2-3 inches too short...it pulls the antennas together.

Is it the same length between the antennas for a 2007 (leather Tour Pack) and a 2008 TP ?

It's made that way.  First thing you need to do is get rid of those eye poker, garage door scraper, whip antenae, and go with J&M's new short black ones.  They work as well or better, are tuned for your CB, and won't poke your eye out every time you walk around the back of the scoot.  Not to mention that they look 100% better!!

Concur.  Warren and Bob (flyingwillie and Tbone) were quick to point out the green bike looked like a Wing with the long antennas.  Ordered my J&M's that day.  Installed them the night before I took the bike to Red.  Got that monkey off my back.

I think the challenge here is the KTP is slightly wider than the the LTP.  A good seamstress should be able to correct the challenge with the bike covers for the 08 CVO Ultras.  This isn't really all that surprising.......since the MOCO gave us the same cover they gave the SEEG owners......which is too short, and doesn't cover the mufflers due to the increased LTP height.

You might want to get one of the Exigent covers.  Serves the same purpose, covers the whole bike, and packs small for travel.  Personally, I like the HD Oasis Day Cover.  I'm pretty happy with it, since it keeps the seat dry.  It'll fit the 08 CVO Ultra without modification.

Does the J&M (the same antenna) work for both the CB and FM?  The website says the antenna is used for both.

I was told by the local dealer that the same antenna will work for both the radio and CB.  I have not bought them yet, because I think I remember seeing a short chrome replacement antenna?? :nixweiss:  As best I can remember (or maybe I imagined it), I once saw a short chrome antenna that had a spiral near the bottom and was about 12" to 16".  Anyone seen these (or did I imagine it?).

The same antenna works for both sides.  The good part about the J&M model is that it is pretuned for the HK radio, so it's just a put it on and not worry about burning up the CB module on the radio.  Most who have checked them have found the range to be well within good operational specs.  Even better than the whip antenna that comes on the bike.  Plus, the base is flexible, so they are not easily broken off when putting a cover on, etc.

Most folks don't use the CB so they don't know if it works okay or not

Oasis day cover is a great cover due to the fact that you can put it on the bike while pipes and mill are HOT.... Does a good job of keeping sun / rain off of seat and leather tourpack. The black and orange colors look great with my BLK/Org jester but may not sit well with other colors.
