Careful, once you go........

Oh that was something Gary told me.

Everybody knows that's a myth...at least that's what I've always told the women I've known... :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:

Went to go out this morning and the battery was completely dead........hooked up the trickle charger and after a couple of hours was able to get it started. Rode about 100 miles this afternoon and have had no problems.  I'll be heading BACK to the dealer (or going to different one) to get the regulator replaced..............

I am getting mine put on next week. It took about 2 months for my stealer to get the part in. Then again, if you knew my stealer, it wouldn't be a suprise.

Going to take bike to dealer and batter was dead. Reminded me of last night...O' that's another story! :P  Anyway, regulator found to be bad while they were checking out the leaky rear gasket etc... Glad they found it. Mechanic checking out everything while in the shop. Glad he did.

Well....went to a different dealer (actually the "sister" dealer of the idiots that allegedly ordered the replacement regulator) and got the voltage regulator replaced without incident. At the same time,  I had them look at the XM radio since I wasn't getting any sound out of the right speakers from the fairing, tour pack AND the headsets. Researched it on the site and heard from another 2006 CUSE owner that he had the same problem and it was a loose wire.  The diagnosis from this dealer was that he needed to replace the XM module.......so he ordered it. Will take a couple of weeks to get it in.

While they had the bike in, I had them adjust the angle on the handlebars (had them rolled forward about an inch). Got on the bike to take it home, and the angle was perfect. Now it fits me like a glove.  When I got home, I looked closely at the bars and realized that when they rolled them forward, they jammed the banjo bolt up against the fairing, leaving an indention in the fairing.  Of course, I'm a dumba** for not checking before I left the dealer, but now I've got to go BACK to the dealer........again......and see what they will do to fix the gouge.  All they would have had to do is to loosen the banjo bolt for the hydraulic clutch and move it about a quarter inch and there would have been no problem. MAN, this is frustrating.

I assume I can't just loosen the bolt and rotate it slightly since I may introduce air into the hydraulic line. Right?

At least the regulator is replaced...........and I realize I doing have gasket issues, but this is frustrating because they just weren't thinking.

Any clue what they'll try and do to me to fix the fairing?  It's a pretty deep gouge........

Thanks for listening to my whining.............

If you just barely loosen it enough to rotate it, you won't lose much fluid.  Just don't let the fluid get on any painted surfaces when you do this!!!

Replace the inner fairing is the only solution to a gouge that deep, IMO.  Of course, you have to be concerned about what else they will f up by pulling the inner... :nervous:  You might try some touch up paint to see if you can live with it... :nixweiss:

Thanks Terry.......just got back from the dealer and I was pleasantly surprised with what happened. The service writer woh I spoke with last week (and called after I found the problem) came out to meet me in the parking lot (I'm assuming it's the bike's uniqueness, not me that he remembered) and took it in to the service tech that adjusted the bars. He immediately rotated the banjo bolt, and brought it back to me. When I asked what they were going to do to fix the fairing, the service advisor told me they would take it of and send it out for paint if I could find a time to leave it with them.

Just so happens the wife and I leave for a 14 day European vacation next week, so it looks like I'll be good to go.
