Neutral Light Issues with new replacement Tranny
« on: September 21, 2007, 05:27:35 PM »

Ok,
I got my SERK back with new motor and tranny.  After a ride, the neutral light will flicker in 2ND and be solid in 1st.
It only does it hot.  It was the same with yesterday's ride and todays.  I'm 90% sure it's mechanical as slightest pressure on shifter cause light to go on and off.
The manual has jack **** about this.  It says it is adjusted at the factoray and should be OK.

Any ideas people?  I hate to bring it in again and have more down time after the last two weeks.

Thanks

My 07 street glide had the same problem, there is an up graded part out to fix the problem. I dont remember if the part is a new switch or O ring but I do kniow that the problem is caused by not enough clearence. When the bike heats up the parts expand and this completes the circut and causes the light to go on. check with your dealer they should know about this apparently they have had to replace quite a few. My bike has been fine since the replacement. Good Luck

Thanks buddy.
went to the dealer and they took me right in and one hour later back on the road.  After a good ride it seems fixed.

I've got the problem, but the dealer here (UK) doesn't know about it - any chance you might be able to come up with more info?  :drink:
