that stain is caused by chafing. aluminum rubbing against aluminum.

Dennis,
You know of any other fixes other then covering it, and why some get it and some don't? Also why does it look black rather then blending in w/the aluminum? Hell I could live w/it if it wasn't so obvious. :-\

So far, no seepage from my anus. Butt I'll definitely keep an eye out...5,056 miles on 110" and no issues as of yet (with fingers crossed, knocking on wood). Ride more-good beer-good. Always I walk away with such good advise! Thanks all!

sorry man, i dont know of any fix. but, i was jacking with the local HD service manager and telling him they would correct the problem before warranty expired. i had a ball . told him it was unaccepatable and it had to be fixed---- man, i got him ticked off and he told me to complain to MOCO! 

when you seperate engine from trans, there is nothing there, just an air space. i once thought moisture would get in there and cook back out from heat, but cant prove that theory. the ones i have seperated were perfectly dry inside======all this rambling to say that i dont know.

Oh well for under $45 the problem can be resolved (covered), and since there isn't any fluid in the space to begin with there is not a problem (other then the annoying stain) to concern about anyway.

It's like any other crack....it just gets dirty every once in a while and has to be cleaned.  WD-40 does it fine.  Mine is nicely hidden with the Kury part now, so all is well.  My other cracks and crevices stay hidden as well...
