That's all going to depend on how long the battery will sit w/o riding, whether it is attached to a battery tender when sitting, temperature that is sitting, etc. A battery can last anywhere from a year to five years depending on how it is maintained. I still have my original battery in mine, but I have a battery tender hooked up to it all times when it's parked, and have been doing that since the day the bike came home.

Not sure about O/B pumpkins, but in B/B huckleberrys they're good for exactly 4.54 years. :huepfenlol2:

Just kiddin'. :P  My bike will be 4 years old next month and like Gary's, mine's been on a BT every time it is parked.  However, in the spring I will put a new battery in it.  I think 4 years is enough to expect out of it and since, like you, I'm at the point that I'm starting to question its longevity, I figure it's just not worth the $110 to worry about it taking a dump on me out in BFE somewhere. :nixweiss:

Yes I also have my battery tendor hooked all winter in the garage.  During riding season I drive anywhere from 35-60 miles a day country.

Outstanding!!!! That means I've got 14 more months before I need to replace mine. You know the stubborn side of me is urging me to go until it dies just to see how long it will last. :nixweiss:

I don't have any plans to travel to "BFE" anytime soon so I might be safe. :huepfenlol2:

Yeah, I know what you mean, Gary.  The thing about doing that, though, is that however long this battery lasts (no. of years, months, days, hours, minutes and seconds) the next battery isn't going to be the same, anyway.  At the end of the day, it's jut not worth dorking with, IMHO.

...I see you are from Elkhart Lake...I am 48 yrs. old and have been going to races at Road America in Elkhart Lake for about 48 years (probably actually closer to 49 years).  Great little town - excellent potential retirement location...

Well you know I'm a thrillseeker. You know the type that runs in burning buildings when everyone else is running out. :D Or maybe I'm just trying to write a testimonial for Battery Tender since they say that "five to seven years isn't unusual" (see here) lifetime expectancy from a battery. :nixweiss:
