Has anyone checked out MCHITCH? http://www.mchitch.com/

It looks a lot like someone took the bushtec, coppied it and they are now selling it for $155 - $165.

We are toying with the idea of a trailer and I am still educating myself, but this looks interesting...  :-\

The only visable difference from the mchitch and my Bushtec is the lower bar that the receiver is attached to has holes drilled into the bushtec and slots in the mchitch.

$165 is a good price for that hitch. You have to use the plug on your bike that matches the trailer and you have to use a isolator.
Bushtec only charged me $55 for my wiring harness, but I have gone to the auto parts store and bought all the parts for under $20 and installed harnesses on other bikes.

Hoppy 46255 powered isolator for 5 wire trailer. If you run separate brake and turn lights then dont run the brake wire line through the isolator. Hook the brake wire to the trailer wire harness directly. Isolator fits under the seat.

Although I have pulled and will pull a trailer again, I think I remember seeing a sticker maybe on the AC cover that says do not pull a trailer, but then everything in the shop manual says " May cause injury or death" if you don't do this or that. I'm sure Honda says don't pull a trailer either but they have been doing it for years. Guess they have to have all those disclaimers to keep the lawsuits down.

I've got the Bushtec hide-a-way hitch. Dealer installed it and looks great. I've pulled a Bushtec for years (not real often) and have never had any problems with motor/tranny or anything related. I also believe that those that have problems don't use common sense to keep the rpm up at all times. Many don't even keep the r's up when they don't pull a trailer. Yeah, I know, I heard that the book says you can use 6th gear at 55 mph. (I haven't verified that.) But, you'll hose your bottom end in given time.  . . .use common sense here boys when ya pulling a trailer, keep it up!.  :D  I'm fortunate for my dealer knows my riding style. They haven't or even mentioned the use of the trailer as a warranty issue. But they are not afraid to tell you to ride a style that will keep your bike healthy w/trailer in tow.

Also, remember, it's there responsibility to prove that the trailer pulling caused the breakdown/failiar of equipment. But, now you have to balance the cost of your attorney etc... number's might not justify the fight in court. Just my .02 worth. To be honest, with all of the above being told, I only pull the trailer a few times a year when I go camping or......forgive me, going to the golf course..(probably going to regret admitting to that one..but I do love golf)

Re:  Hitch Options.

Well, I should have taken bungy's advise and ordered the Bushtec hitch.....ordered the Hitch Doc hitch and...just my luck, will not fit my 08 SEUC.  Seems the rear fender is wider than a regular Ultra.

Anyway, Hitch Doc charges a restocking fee >> so I am going to just hang on to the hitch and try to sell myself.  If anyone knows anyone interested, the hitch will fit a RK, EG or Ultra.  I paid $299 + S&H.  It's new - never used - and in original box with all paperwork >> Will sell for $275 + shipping cost.

Ordering the Bushtec hitch tomorrow.

I installed one of the Bushtec hitches very recently. Had never had one in hand before the installation.  It was all terribly obvious.  Just be sure and leave everything loose until every bolt is started.
