Looking for an oil leak
« on: October 05, 2007, 06:37:31 AM »

Oil leaks on an air cooled engine cylinder is sometimes hard to see. I wondered about this 110 so used some UV oil dye to mix with the oil and show a leak like a glow in the dark using a black light. I got is from Auto Barn - work great. They have penlight UV flashlights too.

Another way to make the oil leaks more visible is with a LED flashlight. The oil in the powdercoat shows up better under the LED light.
