Has anyone tried Royal Purple motor oil yet. SM. Put it in mine yesterday after riding it to day I like it. It runs a little quieter.

I have not.  I've read about, and know folks who use it and swear by it.  I'm certain it is good stuff, but I find it difficult to change one good thing for another without a benefit increase.  I use AMSOIL.

A year or so ago, Royal Purple rated worse than HD Synthetic in a ball bearing test. Wish I could put my finger on the report but it was a very long and detailed report. Out of like 10 oils rated, it was around 8th. Amsoil and Mobil 1 were one and two respectfully. Syn3 was like 5th in the tests. If I can find the frigg'n report I'll post it. I think I got it off the web. I'll look for it and post.

I've used Royal Purple gear lube in the 4X4's differentials, works great, but I've heard mixed reviews on the oil.

After all the tests I've read such as the ball bearing test the Amsoil products rate the best.

Almost, the oil report referred most frequently on this site was done by Amsoil.

Been running RP in Big Red for 8K miles, runs nice and cool. And in the Primary, Amsoil in the tranny. Street Bob has SYN3 and getting ready for the 5K service which will be RP.  Was turned on to RP from a buddy who has been using it in his 98 Softail for 30K and has had good luck with it.

I have a few independent test and they rate Amsoil very high.
