Fitment Question from newbie
« on: October 22, 2007, 09:00:13 PM »

Do all the parts (outside drivetrain) that fit a standard EG fit the SEEG?  Looking particular at seats.  What models interchange, ie roadking, UC etc?  Thank you.

Seats, no.  You will want to look at Road King seats for a SEEG.  The console on the SEEG is extended from (i.e., long than) that of a regular Electra Glide.  EG seats will cover up the lower part of the console.  If that look doesn't bother you, and I've seen some bikes that are set up this way :nervous:, then yeah, it'll work, but most styles of H-D seats are available in a Road King version and you will avoid that fitment issue.

Hope that helps.

103 basically summed the seat issue the way it is.  The only thing I can add is that a Streetglide seat also uses the same dash console as ours and their seat will fit.  If you go with a Corbin dual tour seat, you need to get the SEEG CVO seat they offer.

Most of the other SEEG parts are the same as the regular glides (EG, Ultra, SG).  Hope this helps.

I went with the Road Glide Sundowner seat for my SEEG.  The stitching on it almost matches the rider's back rest perfectly.....looks like a stock fit.  Comfy too. :cherry:

Got the Sundowner and although it is not bad, I still need a little more padding.

Which saddlebag guards fit or will all of them?

Pretty much they all will, but if you install the kind that attach at the top of the frame (underneath the seat), you will need to make sure your seat is notched out to accomodate the bolt that attatches the bag to the frame there.  I believe all H-D seats are notched in this area, but with some of the aftermarket (Corbin, for example) seats, the notch has to be specified.

I suggest doing an advanced search on "saddlebag guard."  It will turn up a lot of info. on this mod.

The Corbin I ordered is supposed to have the notch in it. Rich 07's Corbin had it too. He doesn't have the guards and wondered what the notches were for. I added guards, and that was nice to see that it had the notches on his. I assume they started notching all FL seats. But you better ask before ordering it. ;)
