Shipment Dates for bikes
« on: December 20, 2007, 04:27:11 PM »

I know this sounds like whinnying, but here it goes. I was informed by the dealer; bike would ship on 13 Dec. However, it did not ship and I still don't have a bike. Located in PA the weather won't allow a nice ride. The point is SERK would look nice in the garage. I heard a rumor about bike shipment.

1. Bikes did not ship by 21 Dec it will not ship until the 2 Jan 08. Due to Christmas and New Year vacation.

2. When I asked the dealer, the computer stated scheduled (what does SCHEDULED MEAN?).

Have SERT and RH TD put on. The dealer also said I needed a Hi flow air cleaner? Tone of 357.00 that is w/ discount

I am more curious what the scheduled means. If anyone has a clue please let me know!!!!!!

I was told 21 Dec. ship date too but won't actually be until 2 Jan., but someone backed out of a Copper Canyon/Silver so I moved my deposite to that one - and guess what - 29 Feb. scheduled delivery date...The saga continues.

Scheduled means that your bike is scheduled to be built. That's not a guarentee though that the shipping date won't change again. Production is very scattered this year. When the status changes to reserved, that means bike is built and waiting to ship. Invoiced means bike is on it's way to dealer and the VIN is available. What color were you looking for? Check out the RF2 Jetscream air kit- less expensive than the price you displayed above and much better product. Please let me know if you have any other questions I can help you with.  Chris

If I'm not mistaken I believe the SERK's already come w/the hi/flo backplate. You may want/need just to get a better filter (K&N).

Okay folks,
As a military man you start off your story w/ no Sh((*T there I was.
So here I go, No SH&*T there I was, shopping at the my dealer picking up some items for H6 (house hold 6). I thought I bothered my saleman enough. So I left him alone. He spots me and pointed towards the back. Heres a kick in the teeth. There it was a Blue SERK sitting there. Of course it was not my bike.... Then to make things worse a delivery truck pulled up and my bike was not on it. So I will wait now tell after 2 Jan 08. No telling what is going on with my bike. I could wait and for my purchase or get the blue one now. I am going to wait, cuz I waited this long and I can wait tell it gets here. It is going to set in the garage anyways, so I will wait. I also asked about the air clnr and the SERK comes w/ hi-flo. So all I need is the filter.   If I'm tracking K&N #0800 right filter needed????. The good news was I got top dollar for trade in Sporty. He also said scheduled, waiting for truck. We will see, either way I wait tell Jan

They should be calling with a VIN number any day now. Mine was a month late.
I'm not an expert but I was told the stock filter is not a high flow due to EPA
restrictions. I purchased the SE air cleaner and the SERT, They can use your
existing AC cover. they just need to use a rubber gasket (spacer) on top of the filter.
Had mine done and the SERT and map loaded. I will have the bike Dyno'd after
break in. Have them check that AC price mine was only 150.00. If you watch ebay
you can pick up a new SERT for way under dealer pricing. I paid 210.00 for mine.
Good luck. Do a search for SE AC  you will fine the part number you need.

I guess the silver lining to your wait is you aren't burning time off your factory warranty, if it is only going to be sitting in the garage.

The 08's do not have a hi-flow air kit. They have the regular sealed plastic backplate and regular stock air filter. The 07's had the open backplate but still not a true hi-flow filter. If they're using the term scheduled, you are still a little way's away. And even if you get the bike now, your factory warranty can be deferred until April 1,2008 as your starting date since in most of the country these are not riding months. Check out RF2 Jetscream for your airkit- top notch product!!!

Greetings and Merry Christmas to all of my nationwide family and friends....

I have been waiting 3 months now. I went way past the "Sched" line entry in early November 2007. I have been on hold for Vin# and Delivery Date. The last information I received was from the dealer quoting from HD Letterhead.

For some reason, all deliveries scheduled for November December (the ones with dates but no VIN#'s yet) were now delayed 3 more weeks. That was 3 weeks ago. Further details were submitted without real bearing on my SERK, so I could care less. However, I was told to look to the last week of December-January 7th, 2008. How accurate that estimate is remains to be seen. I'm gonna check again, trust that!

I still look forward to breaking in the 08' SERK, but I got to tell ya, I have a slight advantage when it comes to delivery timing. No matter what time of year it is here in Southern California, It's riding season. So, I am on the road day one with or without sunshine.

I hope you all waiting for the new SERKs and other CVO rides get yours and are able to ride upon delivery. Even if that's in the garage.

Anybody else heard of the "3 WEEK DELAY"?

thanks for all the info guys. I will check out the RFC. I also did not know about the deferred warranty policy. Thanks for the help folks. I wait tell it gets here. After all these years waiting for a new bike I can wait a little longer.

Kona76,
Thanks for the inspiring words to help cheer me up. However the weather might be in Sunny Cal you need to watch the vehicles hawling as%%!. Born and raised (22yrs National City) in the sunny state, and thank god I only visit now. take care and be safe. The blinkers are intended to let people know you are moving lanes, not that you are coming from the fast lane going 85 mph to exit b4 you miss it.
I looked into the air clnr and it comes with a factory installation. I will get the upgrade. Unfortunately, I will have to go with the HD, the $$$ dropped in the bike now getting alittle crazy. Well I am getting cabin fever, and cant wait to get out of the house. I have come to grips with waiting.
