CVO Production
« on: January 15, 2008, 06:40:34 PM »

Anyone know how many CVO's HD produces and how they break out their allotments per state. Bought an Anniversay 08 SERK, curious how many I may see. Thanks, Dean

It is a big mystery with a great amount of speculation. ;D ;) Now if you bought a 105th anniversary edition you would know exactly what number bike you had. :-[

Dean,

The VIN won't tell you anything important. The anniversary models are numbered, X of 1800. Other than that, there's no way of knowing.

It is stamped into the emblem on the bike. I'm surprised the salesman didn't make a big deal out of it.  :nixweiss:

In that case, look for a big honkin' emblem on the side of the bike.  ;D

They are not allocated by state.  They are allocated based on total motorcycle allocation to the dealership and some dealership performance criteria.

Skiindean:

I have one as well and this isn't a very good picture, but just to the very left of the picture on the side cover you'll see the 105th emblem and it will say what your number is.  Mine is 215 of 1800.

Hope this helps.

A little late getting to this thread, but just in case Dan's picture doesn't make it clear (since the emblem is barely visible at the edge of the picture) here's a shot of mine. It's on the right hand side cover.

I just put a deposit on an Anniversary FLHTCUSE3 Ultra. The deealer gave me a June delivery date. However, I had another dealer tell me that production had already stopped on that color. I originally felt good about my deposit on an Anniversary CVO bike and believed the dealer since the bikes are serialized. Can anyone validate the production status?

known fact #1 - Dealers spew misinformation at all times with no notice whatsoever.   ???

Logic would say the dealer #1 is giving you the straight scoop, and Dealer #2 who told you production has stopped is likely spewing misinformation - he probably can't get one and would like to sell you something else....  Dealer #1 ought be able to back up his story by showing you his order sheet.  If he has one coming, he has a paper (and electronic) trail that will prove it.   :2vrolijk_21:

Can anyone validate the production status?

I saw #811 FLHTCUSE Anniversary Edition sitting on the showroom floor back in January at Bumpus Harley-Davidson in Murfreesboro, TN. IMHO, If you go by the numbers I would be willing to bet that your dealer's information is accurate because in January the production numbers were not even at the half way point. Hope this helps......
