Didnt' know that about the CTD.  I guess again, I must be one of the lucky ones because mine, so far, hasn't leaked diesel when it's cold out.  Interesting though, now I'll know what it is if I see it.  Thanks for the heads up on that Henry.   :2vrolijk_21:

The fan sensor electrical connector is easily visible if you look up underneath the left side of the front of the truck.  It will be covered in diesel as well.  The problem is more of an annoyance than anything.  Have to powerwash the driveway more often.  I've parked in several different spots at work, and they all have "the puddle mark."  You'll know it when it happens. TDR indicates the o ring between the case halves of some CP3 pumps doesn't seal properly.  When it gets cold, the CP3 leaks.  When the truck is warm, or the weather is warm, the leak stops.  Mine just started this crap around Thanksgiving.  78K miles.  Took three days to get it fixed.  Still too early to tell if it is completely fixed though.  No puddles since picking it up on Friday, but it is still wet on the electrical connector and sway bar.  Pump is dry, so I figure residual diesel is still running down and working its way out of the wiring loom.  Hopefully you don't have to deal with this one, and if you do, hopefully it is while you're still in warranty.  $100 deductible.  Are you 5.9 or 6.7?  Haven't heard of this problem with 6.7, but I don't pay attention to that board anyway, since it doesn't apply to my truck.

My apologies for the  :jack:   :)

I've got the last year of the 5.9L but I've only got 23K on it too after three years, but do have the ESP on it for another two years, so if it happens, hopefully it will during the ESP.  thanks for the info Henry.

And now back to our regularly scheduled thread.... ::)

I've changed my slip on pipes and my air intake and the dealer still handles warranty repairs. he sold me the parts and i installed them. they do all my scheduled maintainance and all my warranty repairs on all 3 of my 110 screaming eagles. I think it is up to the dealer to decide if he wants to honor the warranty or not. I have a very good relationship with my dealer and they treat me well. tthe service is a little slow but they pick my bike up and drop it off clean when there done.

That was my point, there are dealers who still take care of their customers, sounds like you got a good one and now I do too.

yes there ARE dealers who take care of there customers

but the warranty costs are not taken care of by hd - its the dealer that pays. [well unless they hoodwink hd into thinking its epa compliant]

what the issue really is is this. if you take said bike to a different dealer - no dice not covered, if you are on a trip no dice not covered. if the dealer goes bust - no dice not covered.

in the local area a couple of dealers have changed owner or management - so... if you had work done under the previous owner - its no longer covered, you have to take it 75 miles away to where the old owner still has a dealer.

so if the question is "what can i change and not affect my warranty" the answer is nothing on the drive train other than epa approved parts.

if the question is "what will my local dealer warranty if i have them do the work" that is another story entirely.

note that on cvo 110 bikes - there are no legal exhaust avail other than what is on it, there are very few - if any - air cleaner parts [if they already have the heavy breather there isnt any other option]. things like timken conversions & roller rockers & forged cranks& billet cam plates - all that is just fine.

You're fortunate.  Dealer tried to sell me a maintenance program.  No thanks.  That's part of the adventure.  Buddy of mine bought that program where he pays them like better than four figures, and he gets his services done for like a year, bike picked up , dropped off, clean.

Not sure what Rocket's definition of "clean" is, but that was one grimy, slimy machine they dropped off at work after his last service...............and dude is just smilin' and so proud of his investment and mentions how he doesn't have to pull services.......all he has to do is ride........

OK.  hehehehe.  Some people just don't get it.  Of course............no one here falls into that category, but I get a kick out of watching the locals do their thing with the local dealer.   :huepfenlol2: :huepfenjump3: :huepfenlol2: :huepfenjump3: :huepfenlol2:

Simply amazes me what we've come to these days.  Another reason I'll keep what I have.   :2vrolijk_21:
