Even short of weather that suggest more heated gear the warm grips are proving to be very nice.  Now I know why MrsWe has put up with all the hassles getting hers replaced so many times.  With your recently rebuilt ass have you got any idea yet if cold weather will be a problem or not?

Fired00d,  the flame ones will also match your GPS unit quite nicely.  I would think you with your larger grip you would really love the larger barrel diameter of these grips.

Re: Mrs. We's constant saga of heated grips that don't heat ....... dropped my SEEG off yesterday to have them work on set "Six" of the heated grips.  This time I asked the Service Manager while talking to Harley - to just ask if they will put my bike's hand grips back to stock - or stock flamed grips.  I don't want to have heated grips that have a control knob that controls nothing.  That would just make me mad every time I saw it or was asked about it.  The warmth if fantastic - even if it is not really cold out.  Nice to cut the chill on an early morning or late evening ride.  Just makes you feel cozy.

Haven't been riding in several weeks so can't really say for sure or not. I think all those rumors (urban legends) about feeling temperature extremes when you have artificial joints are just that... myths. We've had a couple cool/cold nights so far and I haven't felt anything out of the norm. Time will tell if I feel a difference when riding in colder weather.

Forgot about that. :2vrolijk_21: Yet another reason to go the flame grips. Thanks. ;D

back to stock - or stock flamed grips.

If they agree to that, and if these other Heat Demons products turn out to offer a satisfactory service life, you'd have another option.  Given the number of us who bought them by spring we ought to know if there's a failure problem or not.

Used my Heat Demons at some setting all weekend long in North Georgia.  Very nice product...easy to operate, works well.  The only thing on my install (using the same power suppy as the stock heated grips) is when you turn the ignition switch off, it resets the heaters to off, which is a function of the Heat Demon switch, so just have to remember to turn them back on when you start it back up.  I guess we'll all get to find out how long the product lasts.  With the stock Stealth grips I replaced, the heat transmits just fine through the grips.

That's good to read.  A fair bit of extended service and still no issues.  Longest mine have been turned on at any one stretch has been an hour.  No weather cool enough they needed to be turned up to max yet though.  Certainly do like the little switch.  Seems like it'd be a lot easier to manage with gloves on than that little rotary deal on the end of a grip.

Mine saw better than 22 hours of total operation this weekend alone, plus the recent trip to MV saw another several hours with the switch in some position, and another few hours here and there around this area of the country. At least as much action as the HD units saw all of last year, then they failed. As a compliment to the heated grips, I have the DeerSports PCi gloves, which are cold weather gloves, but do not insulate your hands from the heat on the grips due to the Outlast material.  The things are pricey, but they actually do function as advertised, and not so thick as to make doing things with your hands a difficult proposition.  Highly recommended to anyone looking for a nice pair of gloves to compliment the Heat Demons. :2vrolijk_21:

Really glad you like the SAC grips. A friend of mine had a set on his scoot a few yrs. back. They looked very comfortable but I never tried them personally. The Flagged Eagle was the only way to go Don. They look fantastic. You know that's what H D stands for to me,IMO. Linny

Thanks Linny.  They do feel great.  The look is different than what I'd gotten used to.  But not in a bad way.  It's certainly growing on me.  All leather with the different colors in it I do have to be careful now about not grabbing them with greasy hands though.  All things considered they're a keeper.
