But man, is there an alternative that doesn't look like a boat anchor?  Or can they be made to be quick-disconnect?  That seems to be where a lot of the buffetting I get with a windshield originates, but I can't get past the way they look on a bike.  I could live with it on the highway if I could take them off as soon as I got where I was going.

They don't look great but they do work.  No quick disconnect that I am aware of.  Too bad the aftermarket doesn't make one as it would probably look better.

Installed the wind deflectors today. 45 out. The look is not great but the ride is great. Really reduced the helmet wind noise and my feet and legs stayed much warmer. Very easy to remove in the summer. Thanks Billy

I had them on my '02 Electra Glide Classic.  The look will grow on you.  If they mount on the Road King anything like they did on the Electra Glide, they will chafe the chrome on the part that it mounts to beneath, so I ended up leaving mine on year-round.

HarleyNC

I've got a 30' Chaparral cruiser with a chromed anchor that looks EXACTLY like your deflectors. Gecko was right! (sorry - couldn't resist). I'm from Las Vegas, so it rarely gets that cold here during the day, but in Jan this year, I rode from Colorado, down through New Mexico and across Arizona, the bulk of the trip above 8,000 feet and a daytime hi temp of only 40. I would bolt a boat anchor on my bike too if it cut down the cold on that goddam trip! Brrrr!!!!!  :o

They do look like do do.  But I totally agree and see you point, form of function, or something like that.  I had some detatchable saddle bags and windshield on my DWG3 that look like chit, but when I rode to Daytona from Atlanta, I didn't give a chit, they worked, and I took them off when I got their.
