How to Install a Redneck Security System
« on: December 25, 2007, 08:35:32 AM »

1. Go to a second-hand store & buy a pair of men's used size 14-16 work boots.

2. Place them on your front porch, along with a copy of Guns & Ammo Magazine.

3. Put a few giant dog dishes next to the boots and magazines.

4. Leave a note on door that reads:

'Hey Bubba, Big Jim, Duke & Slim, I went for more ammunition. Back in an hour.
Don't mess with the pit bulls-- they attacked the mailman this morning & messed him up real bad.
I don't think Killer took part in it, but it was hard to tell from all the blood.
Anyway, I locked all 4 of 'em in the house.
Better wait outside.

Another case where deterrence doesn't have to work to work.  Reminds me of my uncle's print shop.  Years ago in Orange County, CA in a part of the county where the Montagnards began to set up a community he began to have problems with break ins at his print shop.

After the third our fourth time for some reason he printed up a bunch of "Beware of Snake" signs with pictures of several constrictors.  He'd diligently put the signs in the window each evening then lock the doors and come out a half hour later after having his evening coffee and reading the sports page.  In the mornings he always showed up a half hour before the doors were unlocked.  He'd take the signs down then spend time getting ready for the day.  Coincidence or not; no more break ins.

Is there another version of that sign from inside looking out with Mrs Brian chasing Mr Brian with a rolling pin :nixweiss: ?

Should be Don......on those special occasions when she catches me playing tug-o-war in the house with "Bubba" who appears about twice as large as the Pit on the sign.  Running for the fence would not be a bad idea...
