New Year's Day tradition!
« on: January 01, 2008, 03:30:43 PM »

Last five years, I've been able to start the new year off right with a 100 mile ride. Here is today's: Sunny, mid 30's, breezy in the Capon Valley in W Va.  Just Great!!!! ;D :2vrolijk_21:

About 40 here today but dry.  Went on the Polar Bear run as we always do, and had a great afternoon.

It's suppose to go down to 40's tonight. We may see 60's tomorrow (if we're lucky)

Abought 25 degrees, 35-40 mph wind, light snow showers, and we had about 13 idiots (uh, riders that is) go on a 40 mile Polar Bear run.  I wonder if this is a planned program to reduce the number of members in our club?  Oh well, got the year started right.  Everybody made it home safe.

Ride Safe.

I had plans to go on an annual New Years Day run here in Oklahoma today...the Dresser Jack Memorial Run.  Riders from all over the area ride to Perry, Okla.  Usually several hundred riders converge on Perry, Okla. (pretty small town) around lunch time on New Years Day.

Like I said, "I had plans".  I have been flat on my back sick for the past two days......really sucks!  Got the whole sinus - upper respiratory thing going on, so thought I better stay in and off the bike since it only made it up to about 40 degrees today.

Good news is that the forecast shows upper 60's for Saturday and I should be felling better by then.

Last year while still in Maryland it could be an interesting ride - now that I live out there in San Diego...

Excellent.  That is certainly a good way to start off the New Year, knowing you rode on that first day.
