Install a PCIII in my FLHRSE04???
« on: January 06, 2008, 09:59:12 PM »

I have about 4K on the bike - it is stock and I am probably going to leave it that way for awhile. However, I do have my concerns about heat and running lean thus my interest in the PCIII. The bike has ABS and from what I have read over at hdforums.com the install of this device on that bike sounds like a Pain - not something I could not do, but just a pain. So I went to my local dealer and asked what they would charge me. Well the guy who does tuning and dyno runs etc. says he got two units from dynojet that they have asked him to report on installation. So he will install mine do dyno run(s) and make a custom map for $500. At first I thought this may be a little high - I see this new model for sale for >$300 and how much labor is involved? But then again the product lists for $370 and as I said above the install looks like a PIA so any thoughts on this price and if I should go for the dealer install? Thanks in advance.

I don't have any experience with a PCIII on an 08 model. The price they quoted you sounds pretty good if the PCIII is included. I'd go for it at that price.

It does include the PCII in that price.... thanks for responding.
With ABS the right hand side under the cover is filled with ABS so the PCIII will not fit there. The new spot is in front of the battery. According to what I have read, getting the wiring harness to fit in there is a B!tch.
