SE Ultra 2007/2008 mirrors
« on: January 01, 2008, 07:26:49 AM »

As my pumpkin is a desiganted HDI model... it was not supplied with the great looking billet mirrors.. So thanks to a great HD dealership in the US, I was able to get them and have them delivered.. and don't they look a treat... Why they never put them on beats me.

I have one concern though.. I installed them and had the pumpkin sitting in the sun and realised that when the sun shines on the mirrors, you can actually see the inside back of the mirror, then upon closer inspection I realised that where the text says “objects may appear larger..."  the etching has basically removed the silver fiol at the back of the mirror (only where the text is though)... would I be right to assume that both the mirrors have not had the blackout paint applied to the reverse of the mirrors?

If so, then I'll contact the distributor and have it rectified..

Many thanks in advance for your assistance...

Cheers

I noticed that my reflective coating is slightly transparent in bright sunlight also.  it's not bad.  I don't know if it's worse than yours.  Also not sure if it's fixable.  Try calling your local auto glass shop and asking them about it.

There are some pretty nice mirrors in the J&P cycle catalog...

Hi Aus,

Do you have part numbers for those, they don't seem to be in the accessories book?

Cheers,

Kev

As requested.

91950-07  $97.60 US$
91951-07  $97.60 US$

These were procured from Chicago HD, their 20% discount basically allows international buyers to get the parts in at the same overal price that local customers would get them in, i.e. the discount is used up via the shipping. D$ = Discount and D$ = Shipping.

I have added a couple of other pics in as well

I do however find it interesting that the international mirrors provide the same magnification etc as the original spec mirrors, If HD want to enter the interantional market, then the international customers need to be catered for, by providing them with the same features to that of the local market.

Sorry about the size of the files, but quality always costs.

Regards

Aus
