That's the difference though - we drove them - these guys look at 'em.....

Nice Cobra, here's a no chit story for you.

I rmember standing in front of a brand new Cobra on the showroom floor in Burien Washington in 1965, a little 289, white with the blue stripe.

My dad said, "If we came home with this, your mother would shoot us!"  Damn nice looking car then and now.

As I recall it was around $5995.00.

I had an opportunity to buy a 1965 Cobra in the mid 70's from a good family friend.  It was a Cobra that had been raced for several years in SCCA road racing.  The friend, a fellow by the name of Mack Yates owned a Ford Dealership near St. Louis and had raced the car for many years.  I don't know what ever happened to the car, but Mack passed away a few years ago.  I don't remember exactly what the price was, but it was in the 10 - 15K range.  Who knows how many hundreds of thousands it would be worth today...

I remember them putting up a HD Fat Boy on one of their previuos shows, it didn't do so well compared to the cars.

Makes you wonder when your driving out in the country... which barn has the prize!

Shows where to put your $$$$$$. A 308 Ferrari went for 18.000.00, 67 Camaro Conv. for 65,000.00! I have been putting some good $$$$$ away for awhile in anticipation of the prices coming down on classics, looks like I was wrong. I guess I'll just buy a couple more houses.  Dave
