FLHRSE4 REAR SQUEAK WHILE ON THROTTLE
« on: January 27, 2008, 03:25:13 PM »

Just notice an annoying rear squeak while riding and hitting the throttle, very noticable between 3000 and 3500 RPMs and seems to be on the right rear side. Just got Dyno'd, 1000 mile service and new pipes? Not the brakes or suspention, just while cruising. Any thoughts on what it may be? Dean

I had a sweak like you describe at low speeds and at certain throttle settings. It ended up being a too tight rear drive belt that was just adjusted by the shop during a tuneup. You may want to check yours.

VaEagle hit it on the nose - need to have the drive belt tension and alignment reset, and this time tell the tech to use the tool and not just eyeball it like most seem to do.  The belt tension specs changed in the past couple years, and they vary by model and method (ie. tire on ground or tire in air).
