SERK3 Front Tire

The Front tire on the 07 SERK3 was a D418F 130/70R18 .  It seems that the only tire now offered by the MOCO is the D407F 130/70R18, which I believe is the OEM tire for the SERK4.  Anyone know why the change?
My front tire was really cupped at 8700 miles so I just ordered the replacement which is the 41999-07A.  thus the "A" I reckon.
Thoughts?

Well it's been almost a week since I ordered that front tire.  Makes you wonder what will happen if a tire goes bad on a trip.

So you're saying they replaced our front tire with the '08 SERK4's Tire? How about the rear? Same P/N as original? Scary they keep making changes to the SERK3. Like it's a Beta Version, and we're left to make it an official release on our own. :nixweiss:

Yes they did.  If you look in the P&A catalog you'll see it listed for 07 and up.  The rear is the same 07-08 from what I read.
My front tire developed sever cupping after 2K miles so I decided to change it at 8700 while not riding.  Glad I did now that I know how long it takes to get one.  I think I'll order a set to have here at home incase something happens.  I can always have it shipped overnight to me.  Buying it at discount and shipping is probalbly cheaper that buying it at list.

Yes they changed the replacement tire to the 407. Now the front and rear match. The wife's bike had 2 E3's replaced under warranty. Now she is running the 407 we will see if it last. The E3 she was lucky to get 9000 miles before they started cupping really bad.

Man, first I've heard on the D418! :nixweiss:

I've got 8800 miles on my original Front D418, with no signs of needing a replacement anytime soon. Now the wear on my back tire,that's a whole nuther story! I'm on my 3rd tire back there! :o

Well I was wrong! Looks are deceiving! I guees the front wheel was on the ground enough. Looks like plenty of tread left, yet I now see the wear indictor. The radials wear differently than bias ply. I ordered the '08 D407 front radial for my bike. With all the trips I have planned, I'm not taking any chances. Cybil will start this season's touring with a new front tire too. ;)
