Just curious about the bad part, I am in the process of getting my motor rebuilt, what is the better valve spring tensioner to use (assuming that was the bad part).  I am going through the ususal upgrades, timken bearing, S&S crank, gear cams etc. Thanks, great info!

Who is doing the engine build for you????

As far as spring height and spring tension it all depends on the cam and type of springs.

Zippers is building the bottom end, dealer is installing the motor and installing Redline 575 gear cams.  Thanks!

I think you will be OK. I guess Zippers is doing the timken conversion as well. As far as springs, your stock ones should be fine. Unless you want to upgrade.

Brian I talked to Pete last night. It is not as bad as it looked like. A lot of the work already done. He was very pleased with the out come so far.

No I don't,  I think the reputation of the 103's speaks for themselves.  You definitely here more about the 110 issues a whole lot more the 103's.

Yep, they're Hi Tensile and shouldered too so you don't F up your cases. Not like the SE studs. :2vrolijk_21: ;)

MoCo just uses standard shouldered studs on the 110, not SE. ;)

Any inference that the SE 110 motor is Hi-Po is beyond misleading dude, it's an outright lie.

These motors are so bad, I'm wondering if AMF has come back to life and is building these.
