Air temp Guage
« Reply #1 on: March 27, 2005, 01:45:22 AM »

Before I remove the outer fairing(forgot to look last time I installed my Tunetrapper) has anybody tried to adjust the air temp guage ?  Is there a adjustment screw on the back of the bezel?

Mine always reads 60 degrees. regardless

(I know ,I know) I promise to replace it with an spun alumnium oil temp when (if) Harley makes an exact replacement.

Leroy.

P.S. I spent 2701$$  today at the dealership on parts... to name a few..

- color match Orange king tour pack with matching 04 passenger backrest leather ,
 detachable mount, interior liner,
- 05 main headlamp light with the matching passing lights(all vertical reflector),
- rear turn signal conversion kit ,(step on brake all 3 light up)
- Gloss black rear saddlebag crash bars,
- stage one intake and download,(already have the SEII Slipons..)
- tour pack led kit,
- New longthrow highway pegs,
- layback license plate holder,
- CVO indoor cover(never had one), [bgcolor=Red]200 bucks OUCH!![/bgcolor]
- deep dish headlamp and passing lamp chrome trim rings
- heel shifter removal cover,

Now that I write it down it doesnt seem like 2700$$$

Oh ya -The Roast and Roll... now it seems worth it. [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Think mail order!  Benji's in West Virginia, Hales in Ohio, Chicago H-D to name a few.  Order is usually here in a week and I live further west than you.  20% off and no tax.  In WA we don't have a state income tax but make up for it with one of the highest sales tax in the country.  I save almost 30% buying through Benji's.

8.9% in the county, 9.0 in the city and a tenth or two higher in Seattle.

If you don't live in New Mexico, Chicks Harley Davidson.  Ask for James Bond (I'm serious, that is his name)

I was able to adjust my temperature gauge........

Adjusted it right over to the workbench, filled the hole with the voltmeter and then filled the voltmeter hole with McEwen's oil temperature gauge.

Works great now. [smiley=beerchug.gif]

I like the Porthole plan and will do the same with my banana while I have the fairing off to get the hogtunes in there.  Why they would sell a 30k bike without an oil temp gauge and give us an inaccurate air temp gauge must be another part of the Harley mystique.  Thanks to Roger for a sensible solution that looks pretty good in the pictures to me. Anybody know the status of the HD proposed spun aluminum oil temp guage?

P.S. I just ordered the 440 12" standard rate  springs...we'll see how they work.
