Try Foremost Ins Co in Grand Rapisa,Michigan.
Even though I live in N.J. I have personally found them to be extremely competetive and superior service.
Must admit I'm 60 and super clean driving/riding record.
I carry the maximum coverage with a $500 deductible and pay approx $580 per year with the proper $ coverage for a 2005 FLHTSE.
Not for everyone but great for us "Geezers" who haven't been caught turning it on.

Tony, will you check with Rick in service and see if they concur with Shovelhead regarding Progressive and Foremost?

JC, I talked to Rick in service and he said they have had no problems with any of the companies. They had a problem with one adjuster trying to shortcut everything and he was told to not return..he was an independant adjuster...possibly with Metropolitan...
unsure about that

I hit a dog on Thursday, April 21 while my wife and I were on the way to visit our son in Boise.  Damage included a bent rotor, bent crash bar, broken tab on the lower fairing cap and a creased front fender.  I replaced the rotor in Boise (kudo's to Cycle Nuts and Bolts  in Boise for getting me in on a Saturday AM and out w/i a half an hour) and have a total estimate of approximately $1700.00.  I too have Foremost and will report back on my experience.  Incidently, my dealer is suggesting replacement of the fender rather than repair and repaint as they believe it will be cheaper.  The cost of the front fender is a mere $873.00.

I never saw the dog, a golden lab.  My wife, who was riding behind me said he bolted out of a ditch and ran into me.  It didn't look to her like it was chasing me but just an exuberant dog not paying attention as it was running across the highway.  I was traveling about 50 mph and thought I'd run over a 4x4.  The dog was killed, unfortunately.  The experience put a damper on what otherwise would have been a great weekend.

You didn't say that you and the wife are banged up so we'll take that as a very good thing. Sorry 'bout the accident, been there with a beagle, done that and it sucked. Hope you get the bike fixed up real quick and get this behind you.

when reviewing these 2 companies - once again - compare apples to apples as to what I have encounted and what i stated in a previous post ---- WRECKS --- not monthly/quartly/annual charges - just how these 2 performed for the customer - as far as FOREMOST - previous to 3 years ago I lived in Grand Rapids, Mich - home of this company - very familar with this co. and that is all I will say about it. You Get What You Pay For.  Wrecks where the bike has to be kept-estimated-company has to take pics - auth repairs - 2 companies take our estimates - copy them - put their name on top as if they estimated the damage themselves. If you have better luck on an individual basis - than more power to ya. If you deal with an average of around 14 wrecks going at a particular time - it give you a very good track record to review how companies handle claims and how they handle you the customer. End of my posting on this subject
