Custom Seats
« on: February 21, 2008, 11:54:44 AM »

hey Guys,

I need some advise on custom seats. I found a site called sideroad cycles that makes custom seats for all models. does $400.00 sound about right for a low solo seat with silver/gray leather, gel pack & blue flame stitching, or are there other places to check out? I appreciate any help...

Regards,

Check out dannygray.com when you pick out the stich pattern and color of leather and yes blue stitches. Call them personaly and you will get the best leather in the business. :2vrolijk_21: well under $400.00 with a ride second to none.

Becareful about the gel Pack as they can pick up much heat from the sun, especially in the summer, and when you come out from lunch for instance, you sit on the bike and burn the buns!  Then you have to ride on a hot seat until it cools off!!

Thank you both so much for the feedback, it is much appreciated! Can't wait to get this seat custom made & install it. It should look awesome against the screaming eagle paint job!

A place called American Side Road Cycles...here's the e-mail link, Jim helped me big time. www.sideroadcycles.com. E-mail contact-FlandersParts@ aol.com. The cost was $418.00 delivered for leather with flame stitching, and gel pack. It has protective carpet cloth underneath which not only protects the paint, but acts as a heat shield. The contours of the seat are perfect. I got a Kuryakyn rear seat bolt kit from Eastern Performance for $16.95 delivered that is a chrome plate and thumb bolt-looks great! I have put 140 miles on the seat last weekend and it was very comfortable.

At my age I do prefer comfort over chrome - does it still qualify as OCD?

I think it is against the new bi-laws to use words with more than 10 letters...I hate keeping a dictionary open when reading this stuff...I already have to have my users manual, repair guide and performance guide...I am thinking that I need my GPS just to make sure I don't get lost.
