Bone head award for me please
« on: May 08, 2005, 02:08:58 AM »

Ok here it goes. Bike arrived on Thurs.  Took it home, then took the bike back to the dealer on Friday to have Rineharts, Pc and se air filter installed.  So I said HEY, the pipes are going to be off, might as well install an Arlen Ness oil pressure gage( that I had purchased for my wifes bike, bike but then it turned out that she really didn't like the location of it so I took it off).  So I picked up the bike last night rode it home and everything was great.  This morning got on the bike start it up and did a check of all my gages like always.  Then it hit me hey a-hole there's allready an oil press. gage in the fairing.  Yes I felt like a total  beeeeeeeeep.   Wasn't sure if to put this thread here or in the humor section, hey I'm ready let it rip.  Let's Roll

All that  pretty extra chrome on your bike now so I will leave you alone. You can always  take out the factory guage and put in an oil temp guage. Stay safe.

Ok here are some answers,
I did think about taking the fairing gage and putting another one in.  The new gage is instant reading and it reads a bit lower press than the one in the fairing.  When I mentioned it to someone at the shop, they said, hum never really thought about it.
Now I just say, the bike has so much juice that I need a preassure gage on each cylinder.   Let's Roll

Well know you can add the oil temp gauge and keep your air temp gauge.

Well OK thats tooooooo funny [smiley=7.gif] But don't feel to bad cause I  removed the one from my RK and saved it for my new SEEG. But realized  it before installing it. But hey yours looks good there so maybe I'll do what  you did and install it and then remove the fairing one and install the HD compass kit there ??????????  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Yeah, yeah, put in the compass.  Then a guy could tell what direction the oil is going through the engine?

Think of the extra gauge like this guys.  If someone ever asks you about it it's not a "bonehead dumass mistake."  It's a "Redundant Backup."
