air shock pressure when pulling bushtec
« on: April 28, 2008, 09:08:28 PM »

Was curious what I should run my stock air shocks at when pulling my bushtec.

I'm riding 1 up and normally put 28LBs in them. With 20LBs tongue weight (measured with fish scale) I thought I would just add 2-4lbs of air.

Any thoughts?

Have you checked your owners manual for air pressure/weight chart? I ride solo and pull a 225 lb trailer with a 50 lb dog with a tongue weight of 15 - 20 lb . I weigh 205 lb with gear on and I only run 12 lbs pressure riding mostly back roads 200 - 400 mi. a day with no problems. Doesn't mean this is correct, it just works for me but the manual will give you some guidelines.

Hi Mark.  28 lbs should be just fine for pulling the trailer.  I normally ride at about 25 and I don't put any more air in for when I pull the trailer.

See you next week.  Yahoo!!!!

Thats kind of what I figured -  I'll run it on 30 and be done with it.

Moe -- looking forward to seeing all my VIHOG buddies in Las Vegas on Sunday!
