If the rumble is what you're after and not a styling change, you may wish to go with Harley Screamin' Eagle slip-ons. As you noted, many of the aftermarket pipes obscure the view of either the engine or the tranny.

I was told the Screamin' Eagle slip ons don't add enough to justify the change.  I ordered the Rush slip ons because they most resemble the original exhaust.  I like the look of what I have.  The rush's have the same pipe dimension- a little over 3 inches.  2.25 baffle.  I am getting them installed tomorrow.  Also adding some Kuryakn engine cover parts.

Marie,
you're right.

the SE slip-ons aren't much louder than stock.....sad to say. :(
they are not worth spending the money on for very little change in exhaust level. you'd be better off just drilling some holes in the stock baffles....

your bike will be much louder with the Rush slip-ons, the 2.25" baffles are nice!

i agree the rush mufflers do sound awsome with the 2.25 baffles. i had them on for about a month before going to a full Rinehart exhaust system.  They sound just as good as the Rineharts in my opinion. THE ONLY reason i changed is to open up the back wheel a little more. I have them for sell if any body interested.
