Another hint to make life easier is to loosen the lower bolt on the spot bracket and remove the top one totally. This lets the spots tip forward slightly and give more room to get the fairing off. It really makes a big difference.

Plus, when you do drop one, or both, of the hidden screws, you're already half way there to taking the spots and chrome bracket off to make it easier to find the buggers. :2vrolijk_21:

I put mine between the 3 nags - hardly notice it there.  XM reception greatly improved.

Its good that I did it because when I took the fairing off I saw that one of the wiring harnesses had been in contact with the bracket for the xm antenna mount and two of the wire jackets had worn away. Would've been even more upset if somethin fried because of it while riding. So even if you're not gonna move the antenna, you may want to make sure all is okay under there.
