Shop manuals?
« on: May 19, 2005, 10:18:14 AM »

Has anyone found an all in one shop manual for the 05 SEEG? My dealer is saying I need to get 3 manuals, one for the FLHT, one for the Screamin' Eagle version, and the electrical manual.  Total= $160.00.  Anyone have any luck with anything else?

Why take the easy road?  I prefer to come
to a stop slidin' in sidways, hangin' on
for dear life, just so I am able to say;
"Man what a ride!"

Your dealer is correct.  Call around and you can find discounts.  Chicago H-D gives 20% off. [smiley=beerchug.gif]

What a load of crap...   I think we should go on strike and tell the MoCo that we won't ride our bikes until they give us a decent option on manuals.  What do you guys think?

my dumb opinion is - if I started a business that I developed a product and controlled that product including the paint and the manuals pertainiing to it - I would charge as much money as possible and probably do the same thing - its the free enterprise system - ain;t gotta like it cause we are the consumer - but put your money in their shoes and honestly say you would just give crap away  ?????? come on now - now being rude - just logical  - i would controll as much about that product as possible - price - legal rights - copyrights etc - you would get the gas companies to lower price of gasoline before MOCO dropped their marketing concepts [smiley=beerchug.gif] [smiley=drink.gif] [smiley=beerchug.gif] [smiley=drink.gif] dinking into a coma and headed to bed

I will agree it IS total CRAP.... but Shovel hit the nail on the head!

But, there's another way to look at it... 160.00 is two hours of labor at HD.

My investment in manuals over the years has saved me MUCH more than that.  Consider them expensive college text books.  You will get your money back out of them.   [smiley=beerchug.gif]

What about the parts book?  I bought the touring service and the FLHTCSE2 supplement and did not see the electrical manual.  They did have a parts book but thought the dealer had that anyway so did not see the need for it?

There is also a SEEG specific maintenance manual that deals with the hydraulic clutch, the detachable tour pak,etc.  I don't have the part #  as I'm on the road right now but did receive the manual from Zannotti's last week.  It's a little thin guy that references the Touring manual constantly.
