Octane booster
« on: June 03, 2008, 02:21:33 PM »

Any body ever use octane booster? thought it would offset the cost of paying for premium, but it's pretty much a wash $$$$$.  So I want to use up the bottle. The manufacturer claims that it raises your octane 15 Points and treats up to 21 gallons for a 16 oz bottle. That would bring it up to 104 octane if I used 89.  I generally put in on average of 4 gallons of fuel, that would be approximately 3oz of octane in the mix. Just wondering how sensitive the 110's are to these additives?  (oxygen senors etc.) :nixweiss:

Don't have O2 sensors so can't respond to that issue, but I've used octane booster a time or two. However it wasn't so I could use lower octane gas from the pump it was so I could get higher octane period. I wouldn't think of putting anything less then 91 octane in my bike if I could help it.

No jet fuel or octane booster here!
Just straight Cam II 110.

After careful thinking I realized I do have some octane booster.
Otis gave me some about 4 years ago.
"Outlaw" I think.
Does that stuff have a shelf life?

Don't know why,but octane booster coats your sparkplugs - - - very quickly. You use it all the time, you'll be changing plugs every 1,000 miles

Go with good ole high octane racin fuel if you want to get more out of your motor

Chit!!! Just my luck I thought I found a great alternate to the real deal race fuel. :( Oh well I guess I'll check out that motorcycle dealer that was selling it before (now that they've moved out of my jurisdiction they may have it again).

$4.10 a gallon on base today...

I don't buy on base.  You'd think they would find someway to cut us a break, not have it be more expensive then out in town.  There is no mass transit in the Jacksonville area that is worth a damn...and none on base.

I have to imagine this is killing our Junior Marines.  I know my one Corporal is being affected by it - and she is preggy and about to have a 2nd kid!
