What do you all think is the propper a line mint for the spot lights.
Their is nothing in the book that I could find. :nixweiss:

The alignment is in the shop manual, copy of diagram attached below.  Or you could follow this link for my method, which sets the spots straight ahead and not angled over into the ditch:

the snap-on 9/16" flare nut socket is the only thing that work's.it's about $30.00 and your done.  i don't know what your time is worth and you can make your own socket ,  but i suggest buying the snap-on socket, you'll be happy.   axil

What axil said, you can always use the safety aspect of the purchase to justify the expense. I do that for chrome all the time. When your more visable from the shining chrome you're safer......so buy more chrome.... :nixweiss:

You still have to be careful not even with the snap on socket not to twist it too far before setting it back a flat or two.  You can still pull the hot wire loose.

The opening in thast one isn't large enough to make it worthwhile to use.  You'll only pull the wire out of the spot.

I looked at his dimensions on the socket and compared them to Snap-On....looked to be the same :nixweiss:

I took a $1.99 socket and cut a slot, as a few other here have, and works great. Think i've used once or twice over the years. Snap On looks cool but think I'll take what save with my vresion and go buy a few quarts of oil or somthen

Hog,
What I meant was the opening for the wire- the enlarged area above where the nut is contacted- isn't very wide.  When you loosen or tighten the nut, if you're not careful, you can spin the socket far enough to pull on the wire.  The smaller the opening in the socket, the less you can turn it before you start to pull on the wire.  The snap on one has better than 1/2 the socket open, and you can still fairly easily pull on the wire when using it.
