 I noticed a small blemish on the left front of my tank a couple weeks ago, I was cleaning bike this morning and noticed it was worse!!!! then noticed the inner fairing switch cap had a bad spot on it too!!!!!  I started looking and the inner fairing hits the tank , both left and right, but since you lock it up to the left,it has more damage!!!

 Do you suppose they did not take the bigger tank into account?

Sounds more like something isn't in it's proper position. I would get bike back to dealer as soon as possible and make a warranty claim. I wouldn't try to adjust/fix anything (then they will say you were the cause of damage) before letting dealer see the damage. To me sounds like they owe you a new tank and inner fairing.

i just checked mine.. got all kinds of space between the inner fairing and tank.. you better check your stops.. somthing is not right

I wonder if the bump stops on the forks weren't installed.......only thing I can think of that would let the front end come over that far

Well, I went out to take a look at mine and I've got about 1/8" of clearance on the left and 1/2" on the right.  I guess I'm okay with that as long as it's not hitting the tank.  I just hesitate at having the young wrenches start messing with something and wind up doing more damage than good.

I recall Vagabond had some trouble with his fairing being crooked, and found out that the mounts inside the fairing are pretty light and they were bent.  It might be worth taking off your outer fairing and checking to see if you have some adjustment on the mounts.  Of course I'm talking out my a$$ on this, because I've never done it myself, but just a thought.

I just went out and looked at mine, and found that the switch console that surrounds the ignition & lock comes within 1/4" on both sides, a little closer on the left.  Not enough to touch, but it is close.  The actual inner fairing stays far enough away to slip my fingers in between so it's about 3/4" out there.  Doesn't look like there is much adjustment to the switch piece unless it will move out with the whole fairing.  Maybe your tank is too far forward?
