Bad Front Wheel Bearings
« on: June 05, 2008, 05:22:25 PM »

Well not sure what caused it but the shop just replaced both front wheel bearings.  Started seeing some grease on the front rotor on the left side about a  1 1/2 ago and kept cleaning it off, then about a week ago started to get a hum and slight vibration in the handle bars.  Dropped it off at the shop yesterday to have them check it out and just got a call from them saying the left one was toast and the right one didn't feel very good either.  The left one with the tone ring for ABS was pretty spendy when I priced them.  They changed bearings with the new axle and ABS change for 08 so don't know if it's all related or not, just a heads up for those with 08's.

Just over 12,000 miles on it.  I ride in anything but ice, and it has been a wet winter here.  He said the front spacer was even rusty so they sandblasted it and coated every thing with some Redline grease before he put it back together.
