SERK footboards
« on: February 25, 2008, 01:27:36 PM »

Has anyone installed floorboard extentions on a RK? I know that there are a couple of aftermarket Co's that make them. Just wondering if they make a difference.  Thanks KB

I have the Kuryakin ones on my SERK3 (they're black though, not chrome). They worked out very well. I like them. Not too much extension. Just enough! ;)

Same here Kuryakyn. Mine are black also. Glad I put them on. Very good results.

Has anyone got a picture of what they look like on?  The ones I found on the Kuryakyn website are call Running Board Extenders by Diamond B and they list for $39.99.  Kuryakyn evidently has some chrome ones coming out in May 2008 but they are listing for $89.99.  If these look OK I'd just as soon save the money.  Any issues with scraping floor boards when cornering (more than normal) once they were installed?

Kuryakyn's work fine and do make a difference. They do extend out the boards a bit, and increase the scrape factor a bit. Not too difficult to put on, a 3 beer job maybe  :drink:

:D Hey Joe. I recently installed Kury footboard extentionson my SERK. I must agree w/ you it was fairly easy to complete. The one question that I do have is,if this is a 3 beer job what condition are you in after changing an exhaust system? KB   :orange: :pineapple:

It must be me - I put the Kurykyn extenders on last night thinking it would be simple. Took a couple of hours and I ended up stripping off a bolt in the lower left side brace. So, it's back under the bike again tonight to fix. That bolt on the lower left that threads in from the inside is a bitch.

But, hey, all is not lost. Got to use my new J&S jack which is outstanding.

Hey KB I just tried the chrome from "K" and they would not work. I did buy some chrome ones from a guy in Cailf. that extend 3/4" and that works great for 13EEE. Call me if you are interested and see if I can track down the number or website. I think they were $80.00 or so for the chrome. office is 800.338.4168 ext 316 Mike

Saw an add for ones from Covington that move it up and out...

Now that I put the E-Z Brake on, I am not sure I can or want to move my floorboards forward...

Rode to the ROT Rally this past weekend and 2 great "day trips". Moving the floorboards out 3/4" made a big difference. Much more comfortable. I was able to forget what a bitch it was getting that 1 bolt back in place.
