Fun Project....
« on: June 29, 2008, 05:04:33 PM »

Here is a lil project we just completed...For a while I have been holding on to my CVO Gold Key, along with an original 2004 SEEG brochure and have long thought it would look good framed. Never quite got around to it though. A few months ago while hanging the 2007 Christmas Harley "Bikes of the 80's" promotional gift frame / shadow box - I got thinking.....and took it apart to investigate....liked what I saw and bought one for $20 off ebay and took it apart, took my SEEG Miatso diecast model and hacksawed it in half. Went to the local trophy shop and had some brushed aluminum loking plates printed up. The original Harley shadowbox just unscrews - its actually plastic but looks nice and the glass is nice also. The bikes of the 80's are just plastic molds and you can break them right off. Took the whole mess to the local framing shop and showed him the plan - he matted the brochure, made a nice cutout for the key and mounted my model and name / info plates. Came out better than we could have hoped and looks great next to the Harley piece which we hear will be repeated this year with bikes of the 90's.

That's awesome. :2vrolijk_21: I've got some brochures, and the Maisto model of my bike that I've been saving to do something with. Thought about framing the brochures having them spread out open using two brochures so I could show front and back. Purchased a couple of the models and now have one on the mantle w/the another still in the box. I also thought about getting a gold chain and wearing my gold key. :nixweiss: I wish we would have got a box like they deliver the gold keys in now I think that would be nice to have in a shadow box along w/the other stuff you have in yours.

Neat!  I just scored the brochure for mine on eBay, but they do not make a die cast for it...bastards!

Great job.
