Speedometer for European Tour
« on: July 28, 2008, 06:38:22 PM »

Hi again all,

My 2 cars both display MPH and KPH on their speedometers, but my CVO Ultra only shows miles per hour.  There can be no simple adjustment to make it read KPH because 140 KPH would only be 87 MPH and I expect to exceed that on the Autobahn...

Is there any American/European Harley speedometer that will match the tachometer on my bike?  Or will I just need to get used to quickly converting KPH-MPH in my head?  I don't want a speedometer that only shows KPH because I hope to make it back to the US again in 2011.

Thanks!

Yes, our ones in the UK have both MPH and KMH - you'd be able to order one I guess...

Bound to be a load cheaper, that's for sure!

Another thing to mention is that the odometer our UK ones will switch between reading miles and km.

It seems that you will be over here for a while. It makes sense to use a dial showing both mph and KM/h. What about the Canadian one? It should be available to your U.S. based dealer, and is probably much cheaper than buying in Europe.

Ride safely,

Thanks!  All good suggestions.

I don't think I have time to switch the speedometer before I PCS so it looks like getting the foil might be the best route for me to try.  I will see what it would cost for a MPH/KPH speedometer, but knowing HD I expect it would not be cheap!
