Nice segment.  Thanks Duane.  Seeing the B-52 do the flyover has to make you smile a bit realizing that this asset of the modern strategic and tactical arsenal is older than any player on the field.

I was at Arrowhead in Kansas City for that first game after 9/11.  Have seen a few flybys and got real reflective when a couple of missing-mans have gone by.  But that day was something special.  The President had a recorded message that went on the big screens at all the games all over the country.  The crowds were more excited than normal.  As days at the ballpark can go, it was a good day at the ballpark.

I get to see a B-52 occasionally. I live near McGuire AFB, home the the Air NG refueling wing. Also get to see the flyovers too before the stadium flyovers. As the crow flies I am not very far from the Jets/Giants NEW JERSEY stadium and Yankee and Shea stadiums.

The Air NG fighter wing is based just down the road at Atlantic City, so...............................

If fighters are in the air the flying gas stations are too.

I've always had a soft spot for those big birds.  With the last re-engine to the H models a few years ago and all the other continuing mods they've seen more re-do than Michael Jackson's face.  After several weeks of frustration a single B-52 did a lot to convince the other side in the Kosovo campaign that it was time to rethink things.  Was saddened when we lost one and it's crew a week or so ago out off Guam.

Since we attend both NASCAR events at Talladega each year, one of the moments I enjoy most is the flyover.  This past Spring, the USAF put on perhaps one of the best flyovers I've witnessed.  There is nothing like a fast mover flyover...............and though JSF is here.............I still think that F-15 is one bad ass Warfighting machine.  Most Talladega events are prefaced with F-15s.  A few times, we've had the honor of seeing the time honored CAS A-10 do the flyover.  They may be slow, but what they lack in speed is more than compensated for with agility..........and on the battlefield........firepower.

Perhaps one of my favorites has been the AH-64D flyover of the Army/Navy game.  Now THAT is an awesome flyover.   :2vrolijk_21:
