BUB vs Rinehart
« on: July 16, 2008, 02:12:21 AM »

I bought a 2008 SERK last week and want to change the exhaust. I plan to get the RT and Stage 1 air cleaner, too. What's the difference between the BUB and Rinehart True duels? The BUB website says the Rineharts only fit FL models thru 2006. Is this really true? Also, what performance increase would there be?

Phil, I purchased mine in June, same FLHRSE4 CVO RK Annv. and had my dealer install the Reinhardts, with super tuner and breather. In fact I did it blind not even knowing what she sounded like with the OEM exhaust. I am satisfied, it sounds great, breaths and looks also.

Rinehart's are made by BUB Enterprise.  Gerald Rinehart started his career designing exhaust for NASCAR.  This later spread to the MC market.  His design, Bub manufactures.

Rineharts are manufactured in Janesville, Wisconsin.  The manufacturing plant is run by Fred Fox's son in law, Dan Krueger.  Fred owns Drag Specialties and Parts Unlimited (among other things), headquartered in Janesville.  Fred's brother was Stan Fox, who was a midget racing champion and raced Indianapolis several times.  Stan was badly injured at Indianapolis in a crash that involved Eddie Cheever.  Stan was later killed in a car accident in New Zealand while promoting Sprint/Midget car races.  Stan was a close friend of mine growing up.
