Extended Warranty's, Where to buy.
« on: May 10, 2008, 06:53:22 AM »

Will be getting extended warranty. 7 years ($1494), I thought someone stated that you can get the
warranty at any dealer? Is the warranty negotiable? Does anybody know were to get the
warranty at a better price. Warranty wil be for a 2008 Screaming Eagle Road King.

Try this:
------------------------

1149.00 for 5 year    1354.00 6 year  1644   for 7 year

then take 20% off  of those prices
290.00 less 20%   for the tire coverage

let me know   i will be happy to help

Yes, call Jenni, I bought the 5 year with tire from her, total was $1152.  Figured I needed it with the 110".

When you say "5 year" or "7 year" are you adding that many years to the factory 2 year or is that a total of 5 and 7 including the factory 2 which really only makes them a 3 and 5 year warranty. I believe tire coverage starts from day 1 though.

And I think you can buy an extended warranty anytime before your factory 2 year expires but not after, Yes?  No?

Mine was 5 years extended warranty, so total of 7, contract runs through 4/2015.  I'd have to find my notes but think you have to buy within 3 months or 2000 miles for it to be considered "new", after that the price goes up, call Jenni she can give you all the details.

Just so everyone has a point of reference, when negotiating for a good deal for an ESP.  The dealership that I'm getting my Street Glide from charges MSRP for the HD ESP and they gave me a copy of the brochure with the prices on it to use when trying to get a better deal.  Pretty good on their part I might add.  Here they are...the amount of the warranty is with the two year factory warranty included...i.e., 6 year ESP is 2yr factory + 4 year ESP = 6year:  The Optional Tire & Wheel and Expense Reimbursement Package kick in from day one.

                        3 years    4 years     5 years     6 years     7 years
ESP                     $609        $814        $999        $1204      $1494

Tire & Wheel         $290        $290        $290         $365        $365

You have 3 months or 2,000 miles to get the ESP at these prices.  After that and up to the last day of your factory warranty, there's a $150 Extended Eligibility surcharge added on.  All dates are based on in service date, which may or may not be the actual date you picked the bike up from the dealership.

Hope this helps.

Is this the same for all bike's or do they charge different amt's depending the model ?

I got differnet numbers for the Screamin' Eagle Ultra Classic
so now I am confused,  Here they are......

1149.00 for 5 year
1354.00 6 year
1644   for 7 year
then take 20% off  of those prices
290.00 less 20%   for the tire coverage

Prices quoted off of the brochure are for FX/FL/VRSC Harley Davidson and XB Buell Models.  The brochure doesn't say anything about CVO's being higher, which makes me think the dealership is jacking the prices up for CVO's.  JMO.  I paid the prices I posted for the 7 year warranty on my 07 SEUC.

I just got done calling Jenni at Tri-County.  The prices she quoted you were the "post-90 day/2000 miles" prices.  She already added on the $150 surcharge.  When I got to talking to her, she said that for a new bike (within the 90-day/2000 miles) window, the prices are those that I quoted in a previous post and 20% off of that...so my 5-year extended service plan with wheel/tire road hazzard warranty came out to $1031.20 instead of MSRP of $1289.   Jenni said hi to everyone and to keep calling her for all of our OCD needs.  She's got my business from now on!!!!  :2vrolijk_21:

You got that right.  Very pleasant person to talk to and very willing to do what's right.  There was no hesitation in her voice when I told her that I heard that she could give me a good deal on the ESP.  She immediately said, yep, I'll give it to you for 20% off, just like everything else you order through me.  She definitely has my business.  I told her, I'd be ordering more parts from her for the Street Glide and the Jester in the future.
