Broken "butterfly bracket" in throttle body
« on: August 21, 2008, 08:25:48 AM »

I took my bike into the shop for it's 20K service and a high idle problem. Later shop calls me to tell me the "butterfly bracket" inside the throttle body is broken. I go look at it for myself and can't believe what I see. Has this happened to anyone else? If not am I just "heavy with the right wrist" and abusing the throttle with as a buddy of mine suggested? I know this much I got lucky it didn't break off while I was riding!!!!! Thanks for the input.

2brats,  i see it two or three times a year. so far it has been on the tps side so your heavy wrist didn't caused it unless yours broke in a differant place.     axil

I'm glad someone responded to that post. I was beginning to think I was the only one that might have happened to...LOL I just got my bike back last night, running great again.

Hey ice6900 the mechanic that repaired this for me is the "small town shop" I was talking about. Mike called me over showed me the problem, explained everything to me. Then he hustled to turn it around in 2 1/2 days because he heard me say I wanted to ride in benefit ride for a buddy of mine who had an wreck on his bike in June. That is the type of customer service that will get repeat business and BIG referrals!!!!!
