I figure there are three types of customers

1. They only thing they want to know about their bike is to whom the check gets made out to.
2. The person that tinkers with his bike, adds some things here and there and does his own oil changes and such
3. The person that does just about everything to his bike.

Customers 2 & 3 would probably want their copy of the map. And I believe, that it is not proprietary to the tuner, if the customer pays for that service.

I inquired about just that with a tuner in Long Island. When asked if I would receive a copy of what was done the person looked at me as if I asked to read his will. Told me he didn't know if that was possible.

Now up until then he talked a good game although his attitude was a little out there. But to give me that line about the copy means either he is all smoke and mirrors or figures the whole world is just ignorant.


Come with me up to Augusta, ME. I think springer and Bean got their act together. Had long conversations with both of them. They know their chit, and only want to help. Going in June. ;)

I'm sure you have lots of satisfied customers.

I wouldn't have known to ask for a copy of my map if I hadn't found this site.  Having a copy of my map has been invaluable in being able to make changes and trying and using 2Lane's SERT map for the 575's and dual exhaust.   Some of this stuff is not rocket science if you read the SERT manual and listen to what is said here.

Do you do a seperate tune for each cylinder with the True Dual/Slip On set up. If so how does that work with a PCIII?

thanks guys for your input. i am going to get the map one way or another.

axil, i live in pgh, i am sure someone local can correct the problem. ill keep u in mind if its not, thanks.

porthole, i do have the interface dongle. also, i fall in your cat #1 but still want the map.

if the map is not furnished, i guess i will have to have it re-done at another dealer and pay for the whole dyno cost again. there will be a whole lot of answering once this issue is resolved.

i have since found out that the dealer there has always been bad.....

Howie - the thought has crossed my mind  ;D

That is a long way to go for a tune though. My bike runs pretty good now, some of the changes I made greatly improved the driveability.

Cams first and then I think I will be ready for that ride

If you do the 575's and have a SERT, the map 2 Lane provided and I use is great.

We do tune each cylinder independently.  We do very few PCIII tunes.  In our area just about everyone we deal with uses SERT's.  We do all the tunes for a local dealer and they supply a SERT with everyone.  Many of the PCIII's that we see are to remove and install SERT's.  Typically they are unhappy with the results of the PCIII and since our preference is the SERT, they opt to switch rather than continue with the PCIII.  We don't have a problem using the PCIII, just the way it has worked out for us.

I am not sure what you are asking.  If you mean can you adjust the cylinders independently with a PCIII, the answer is yes.  When you open a map in the PCIII software you can "promote" it to advanced.  This allows for front and rear fuel tables and front and rear ignition tables.

to the group who gave me sound advise, thanks a million. its been a while since i was on the site as i have been busy riding.

just wanted to mention that i took my bike to another dealer and they told me the prior dealer who worked on my bike downloaded the wrong map for my bike!!!!!

i have a few of that dealers t-shirts of which i will wear with a circle/ since they wouldnt take it them back or issue me a refund of the service.
