Tour-Pak adjustment
« on: September 21, 2016, 08:38:20 AM »

On my '12 the tour-pak had two mounting holes - 1 forward and another a inch or so back that would move the tour-pak back further away from the seat.

What accommodations do the Rushmore bikes have to move the tour-pak fore or aft?  I've not removed the liner on my new '17 as it is adhered and does not just lift out as before.  Looking from the underneath side it appears there is a channel that will allow the tour-pak to move fore or aft.  Is that correct?

Yes, it is a slotted channel so you can have a little bit of adjustment.  about the same as the other years around and inch or so.

Thanks much.  Unfortunately it is already all the way back and need a bit more.  May have to go the re-lo bracket route again.

Put a Kury bracket on mine and moved it about an inch further back.  It will go further but the gap at rear of the seat gets excessive if you go further.  Some have made fillers to go behind seat but I only wanted an inch more room.  I think George Anderson also makes one for Rushmore models.  Put the fixed relocator on mine as did not want to adjust it after install.  Here is a link:  http://www.kuryakyn.com/products/4605/relocator-kits

I did the same, so far no complaints with the Kury relocator

You may be able to find the Kury relocator at a discount through Drag Specialties dealers or Phat, J&P or others.  My CVO rider backrest and passenger backrest take up enough passenger room that even my petite wife is tight especially on longer days.  Pretty easy install but a second pair of hands is helpful holding the tourpak while you line up bolts.  No need to disconnect any electrical, just undo 4 bolts, tilt tourpak forward onto seat, install rails and tilt back into place to bolt up.
