Why did they cut them off? If we're talking about the same mufflers, mine slid right out after you take the screws out.

I'm going with the pre-catyletic converter SE pipes myself. I don't like real loud pipes...I believe in not drawing attention to yourself, especially after a beer.

I found out on this forum that the Supertrapp SE pipes are actually the old pre-emissions HD SE pipes. They have no baffle material and are only 3db louder than stock...that is exactly what I am looking for.

My bike was mapped with a HD heavy breather and the V&H pipes, it ran like crap, so I put on my old stock CVO mufflers and took off to Milwaukee last week.  It ran great (no new map), so the SE pipes will be, I think, what I am looking for.
