For those putting a tour pack on their SERG!
« on: September 08, 2008, 06:41:58 PM »

Fiddled with the must have relocation bracket kit today while I was installing the new mount brackets for the tour pack.  The bracket in the kit can not be used.  Its for everything but the SERG.  The L light is in the way.  So I contemplated for awhile ( see the smoke coming out of my ears!) and just slightly bent the existing bracket so it would take the adapter.  I then loosened up the original barrel connector and moved it up a hair to get a couple more threads showing.  Or you can replace the huge nuts with the smaller nuts in the kit.  The rest of the kit is needed.  Ant plate, wiring...

I'm not good with stuff like this,  I think I'll let the dealer install this one and bite the bullet on the 1 hour plus of labor!

What (and where) is the L light that you refer to?

And what is a ute......?

The L light is the Left turn signal light in the back.  The mount for the relocation kit is supposed to go on the lower rear saddle bag bracket but is positioned to come out on the top part of the light.
The kit is referenced on pg 392 of the parts book under the 2 up tour pack rack.  It is also found on pg 478 and the part no is 76556-09.  Thing is on the tour pack mount it says FLTRSE3 and ant kit is required but the ant kit does not mention fltrse3.

Do not know what you are referring to (UTE).

I do not have a tour pack yet.  It's been on order for 2 weeks.  There was someone else who just picked up a silver SERG and he has a tour pack!  Not sure where your dealer gets his info but 2 months is a standard answer for painted parts.  I've gotten painted parts within 2 weeks on current model year.  Typically it takes much longer if you want a painted part from a 3 yr old model.  But considering this is really special paint on the SERG's... the MOCO probably won't paint too many ahead of time.

Ute was a reference to a Joe Pesci movie in the late 80's early 90's,  My Cousin Vinny.
