« on: September 08, 2008, 11:44:21 AM »

Is the front of the '09 SERG "supposed" to be lowered out of the box or did I misunderstand....again

According to the HD web site,  the SERG has both a lowered suspension (about 3/4") and the front fender sits lower on the tire (again, about 3/4") than the stock Glide.  It retains the air suspension adjustably, though.

Hi Larry,

If you look at the specs for the SERG and regular Road Glide, you'll see the difference (seat height) though the ground clearance is listed as the same (it can't be).  I think it also has a lower profile seat. When you search accessories on the HD web site, it lists the lowered suspension as standard on the CVO model.  The bike site / description also talks about the lowered fender.  Check out the brochure at the dealers too.  It mentions the lowered suspension and front fender.  Hope this helps.

Harley never lowers front or rear only.  For example:

Touring Front Lowering Kit

Place the rider's feet firmly on the ground. This kit utilizes components designed to provide a 1" decrease in ride height.

This product is available in multiple variations. Be sure to look for the one that fits the specific model and year of your motorcycle.

 54564-09

IN-STORE PURCHASE ONLY Contact dealer for pricing and availability.

Fits '09 Touring models (except FLHR, FLHRC, FLTRSE3 and Police models). Must only be installed on vehicles equipped with Profile® Low Touring Shocks P/N 54635-09. Can be installed on FLHX models with Original Equipment rear shocks. Kit includes Jiffy Stand Mounting Bracket. (Available September 2008)

No, front is standard height.  Not lowered.  Only the rear is lowered.
